A little picture heavy...

I've decided to get to grips with my camera in a "hands on" manner as it's probably the best way to learn. Initially I just sat around reading the instructions manual but found it to be a little more than tedious. My new method of learning is a lot more fun and involves combining make-up with photography. I had a blast last Sunday doing the make-up for my friend Sara and organizing a mini fashion shoot...:)
Here's just a couple of pics...- oh and by the way, I think that this might just turn into a hobby of mine so hopefully I'll be posting more pics in the future.
Any constructive criticism, tips or advice on what I'm doing right or wrong will be greatly appreciated as I'm currently at a stage of experimentation and don't really have a clue as to what I'm doing - but it's great fun nonetheless!

  2. The fourth picture is my favorite :]] You did a really good job and the girl is really pretty! :D my only advice would be to adjust focus on at least one thing in each picture, like how the leaves are blurred a bit in the fourth picture. That usually makes a photo a bit more artistic :]] but congrats on your new camera and I hope you keep having fun with it! :D

  4. sorry I keep commenting this post so much, but I love photography so I keep trying to find things in your pictures to make them more artistic because I'm excited for your newfound hobby!

Another thing that I really like about the fourth picture is the background is blurred. Like I said, adding focus to something makes it artistic and beautiful, and the focus is your friend in that picture, no doubt about it. :]] So once again, I really love the thought put into that picture. I think the fifth picture (the one with her AMAZING shoes against the wall) it's really gorgeous and a fun pose... but it truly looks posed. It doesn't look like a great moment caught through photography, maybe have her try to look up (away from the camera because sometimes the side of the face adds beauty to a picture) and have her stop supporting herself with her arms, do something that goes against gravity because then the picture will look like you caught a beautiful moment which takes skill :]] I'll stop boring you now, ttfn :D

  5. Ah!! I just can't stop :P

what I meant by a "beautiful moment which takes skill" is that she could sit like that forever, but say she was doing a backbend or something and you shot the photo right before her hands touched the ground, that's a moment that can never be held through anything but a photo, so it would be more unique than taking a picture of her posing. The fourth picture (obviously my favorite because i cant shut up about it) her hair is blowing in the wind a specific way that no doubtedly changed the moment after you took the photo. it's a moment that can never be exactly replayed which is also another reason I appreciate that picture. I'm going to shut down my computer now so I'll stop commenting like no tomorrow on your post :]
